Electro-Voice has unveiled the second generation of its ZLX series of portable loudspeakers in its “biggest product launch ever”.

The company has already delivered more than a million units of the original series, which offered professional performance at an accessible price point.

The new ZLX G2 line-up comprises 8”, 12” and 15” two-way models in powered and passive versions.

The portfolio builds on its predecessor’s feature set with increased output, frequency range, durability and connectivity, along with a range of ergonomic refinements that include remote control/mixing and stereo streaming.

The maximum SPL has ben boosted to 129dB (ZLX-15P-G2), while the woofer and compression driver in each model are coupled to patented signal synchronized transducers ported waveguide, enhancing low-frequency extension and delivering even vertical and horizontal coverage across all frequencies.

The ZLX G2’s 1000W Class-D power amplifier modules feature an integrated four-channel, three-input digital mixer that includes two XLR/TRS combo jacks and provides 24V phantom power and Hi-Z compatibility. The mixer also offers automatic feedback suppression, ducking, compression and loudspeaker delay settings.

The range offers enhancements targeted at specific user groups, such as DJs, musicians, rental companies and fitness instructors.

A choice of mounting accessories is available, while slipcovers are available for all model sizes.
