Panasonic Launches 6,500 Lumens Projector

Panasonic launches 6,500 lumens projector

This single-chip DLP laser projector promises over two years of continuous, maintenance free operation. Also reproduces 150% brighter colours and up to 230% brighter in yellow than a conventional 7,000 lumens projector, says Panasonic.

The PT-RZ670 and PT-RW630 are additions to the company’s existing Solid Shine line of projectors, and feature 20,000 hours of working life without lamp replacement and flexible, all angle, installation, claims Panasonic.

The models are being aimed at exhibition and museum applications, as well as control rooms and signage.

Both 6,500 lumens projectors are WUXGA and WXGA respectively. Powered by a laser light source, there is no requirement for replacement lamps or filters, and the laser light source has a working life of around 20,000 hours or more, depending on usage.

“Easy installation allows landscape and portrait mounting as well as vertical/horizontal/tilting 360 degrees projection without any effect on the life of the light source, which is not possible with a traditional lamp source projector,” says Panasonic.

The PT-RZ670 model also has built in geometric adjustment, enabling projections on to curved and irregular shaped screens.

The projectors are also compatible with Digital Link, that supports the transmission of digital signals (HDMI, uncompressed HD video, and control signals) up to 100m (328 ft) with a single LAN cable.
